Seismic response analysis of coupled building involving MR damper and elastomeric base isolation

The problem of mutual impact of adjacent buildings located in close proximity in urban landscape has been an area of serious concern for the earthquake scientist. The study is able to highlight that ‘coupled building control strategy with Hybrid controls, involving base isolation and inline dampers, is an effective strategy for response control as compared to Semiactive control. Based on the trends of results from the numerical study, following specific conclusions can be drawn.
